We use mig, tig and spot welding machines and traditional metalworking tools such as an English wheel, hammers and dollies, stump, shrinker / stretcher, bead roller etc to help us create high standard factory style repairs.
From a concourse restoration to a full custom build. We aim to offer high quality restoration work at realistic prices, working closely with the customer throughout the restoration process giving written and photographic monthly updates.
FULL VEHICLE RESTORATION PROCESS:
1) Strip down
Every item checked for condition when stripped from the vehicle, bagged and tagged and stored ready for reassembly.
2) Media blast and epoxy prime
Exposed the true condition of the vehicle so we know what we are working with.
3) Metalwork
All our repairs are as close to factory finish as possible. We spot weld areas that were spot welded from the factory, and we butt weld and metal finish any repair panels that we let in to the original panel..
4) Dry build
We partially assemble the vehicle to check everything fits properly and works as it should before prep and paint.
5) Paintwork
We spend a lot of time on prep work getting the vehicles as straight as possible with the best possible door gaps. Once painted we flat and polish the paintwork on the whole exterior of the car for the best possible finish – http://www.retro-resto.co.uk/paintwork/
6) Reassembly
When reassembling a vehicle we replicate how it came from the factory, or detail to show standard.
